A path, a voice.
Eugénie Préfontaine completed a master's degree in speech-language pathology at McGill University and has been working as a speech-language pathologist at the Montreal Children's Hospital for 6 years, where she specializes, among other things, in the treatment of voice disorders. She also treats voice in adults in private practice. Before pursuing speech-language pathology, she completed a bachelor's degree in classical and baroque singing at the Université de Montréal.
Her career as a speech-language pathologist has not prevented her from continuing to cultivate her passion for singing. In recent years, she has held roles in various productions with the company Belle Lurette in Laval and has also performed as a soloist in chamber concerts in Montreal and the surrounding area. She served as a cantor at Saint Joseph's Oratory for 14 years. Eugénie Préfontaine joined the chorus of the Opéra de Montréal in 2016 and hopes to continue combining her two careers for many years to come.
